What makes up your selling fees?

A selling fee is not the same as a product cost. The calculator keeps platform charges separate from what you pay for stock, shipping and packaging.

FeeHow it applies
Final value feeA category-specific percentage of the fee base. The threshold can apply per item; some categories use marginal bands, others a whole-amount rate.
Per-order fee$0.30 for a total order of $10 or less, or $0.40 above $10. Qualifying athletic-shoe sales at $150 or more have no per-order fee.
Insertion feeDepends on listings, allowances, category and format. Enter your applicable fee; the tool does not know your remaining free listings.
Promoted ListingsGeneral depends on an attributed sale and rate. Priority is click spend, entered manually.
Other seller-specific feesListing upgrades, performance surcharges and taxes on fees are not inferred. Add known amounts in Advanced options.

Store subscription costs are not automatically allocated to a single order. If you choose to allocate them, enter that amount as a cost.

Percentage fees shown above are before any applicable per-order, advertising, insertion or other fees. Rule snapshot: 2026-10-11. Thresholds include the allocated fee-base amounts, not just the listed item price.

Shipping is not one number.

Buyer-paid shipping generally adds to revenue and the fee base. Your actual delivery bill is a cost. The two figures can be different, even when you offer “free shipping.”

See shipping rules and exceptions ↗

Tax can change the fee.

Buyer sales tax generally enters the fee base but is excluded from seller revenue. Enter the tax amount rather than assuming a state tax rate.

Advertising needs its own assumption

Promoted Listings General is not a charge on every sale. The calculator asks whether the order meets the applicable attribution conditions. Priority does not use a sale percentage; enter the click spend you allocate to the order.
